Court grants bail to drivers who tried to rob their boss

An Igbosere Magistrates’ Court has granted bail to four men, Dairo Emmanuel, Ebor Michael, Matthew Popoola and Ige Adebayo who were arraigned on charges of assault, stealing and  attempted murder.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges. Magistrate A. Komolafe set the bail conditions at a sum of two hundred thousand naira each with two sureties in like sum.
The sureties are also to produce  two years tax certificate. The accused were said to have conspired to kill of one Dr. Christopher Agidi, but were not successful. Two of the accused, Mathew Popoola and Ige  Adebayo were said to be drivers of Dr Agidi but were sacked when their boss found out that both of them had been stealing from him and also planning to allegedly kidnap him.

The defendants were also accused of conniving with some people to rob the house of Dr Agidi in the  early hours of Sunday June 12, 2016.
However, the suspects only managed to gain entrance at the gate when they  were intercepted by security agents.
According to the police prosecutor, Inspector Abayomi Abass, the driver to the complainant, Mr. Joseph  Nwosu was inflicted with a machete cut on his left hand while trying to save his boss.
The case has been adjourned  to 22nd November, 2016 for mention
