This was disclosed during a press conference held by the Planning Committee on the 12TH Annual Business Law Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) to be held on the 27th-29th June, 2018 at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

Speaking at the press conference, the chairman of the Planning committee, Okey Egbuchu, said that the theme will be: Bringing Down the Barriers -The Law as a Vehicle for intra-Africa trade. Others present at the press conference include Chinyere Okorocha, fund raising committee chair of the Nigerian Bar Association- Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL); Seni Adio (SAN), vice chairman, NBA-SBL and Olumide Akpata, chairman, NBA-SBL.

Fears have been expressed by stakeholders not only in Nigeria but other countries in respect of the AfCFTA regarding issues of dumping, limitation of the ability to manage tariffs, loss of revenue, influx of persons and so on.

Nigeria tactically withdrew from signing the AfCFTA due to the concerns expressed by stakeholders like organized labour and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Daily Trust gathered.
