The Lagos State Commissioner Imohinmi Edgal assured the general public of effective and efficient policing in Lagos State
The Police Commissioner said this at a joint press conference between the Nigerian Police and members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja Branch held to address unnecessary police harassment in the state.
The press conference became necessary after the NBA branch agreed to suspend its planned protest march which was scheduled to hold today.
The CP who described himself as an espouser of community policing said there is no way the people can partner with police if the basis for relationship which is trust does not exist. He urged Lagosians to call all the dedicated numbers issued by the police in the event of harassment.
The Chairman of the branch Adesina Ogunlana appreciated the CP for keeping to his promise to attend the press conference. He urged the CP to ensure that all forms of infringement on the right of Lagosians and Nigerians by the Police is eradicated.
The conference ended on a cordial note with the Chairman presenting the CP with the Ikeja Branch’s 2018 Diary.
