Shortly after we share with you the news of the public hearing on the Gender and Equal Opportunity Bill by the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, another news of its postponement filtered in.
The reason for the postponement as indicated in the public notice is that the Senate has an engagement scheduled for the same time.
A new date according to the notice would be announced.
Sharing this on her facebook page, a distraught Mrs Mojirayo Ogunlana-Nkanga who has been in the forefront in ensuring the bill is passed into law had this to say
“This is so unfortunate! What a country!”
We can imagine the disappointment.
