The training workshop, which is being sponsored by DANGOTE FOUNDATION and BHRC of England and Wales is a pilot programme designed to boost capacity building of Nigerian Lawyers in the administration of Human Rights Law especially with respect to their representation of internally displaced persons (IDPs), of Northeastern Nigeria.
The program also aimed at enhancing participants’ understanding of pro-bono legal services and equip them with resources for effective service delivery
particularly in the areas of access to justice, unlawful detention and legal representation for vulnerable citizens in North-East Nigeria.
The program will include a Training of Trainers’ workshop for selected participants who will provide ‘step-down’ trainings to lawyers across the Nigerian Bar Association branches located in the Northeastern axis of Nigeria.

The DANGOTE FOUNDATION of which the NBA President is a member and the BHRC of England and Wales participated at the 2017 NBA -AGC in Lagos where both organisations pledged their support to the NBA in funding its human rights engagements across Nigeria and particularly in the North East.
