A 20-year old man, identified as Adedeji Olalekan was, on Thursday arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate court in Osun for the alleged theft of one Toyota Corolla, 2003 model, belonging to a legal practitioner.
Police Prosecutor, Mr Elijha Olusegun informed the court that the accused committed the offence on 26th August, 2017 at No.1 Oladipo street, Road Safety area, Osogbo, Osun State capital.
Elijah said the accused stole one Toyota Corolla, 2003 model marked number AKD 67CA value N2,300,000 property of one Barrister Timothy Adedeji.
According to the charge sheet, Olalekan unlawfully had in his possession, one itel phone valued N 8,500 which was suspected to have been stolen on the same day.
Olusegun stated, “the accused committed an offence contrary to section 383(1), 390(9) and 430(1) of the criminal code cap 34 volume II, laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002”.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the 3-count charge preferred against him and his counsel, Maruf Adediran, prayed the court to grant his client bail on the most liberal terms.
In her ruling, Magistrate Fatima Sodamade granted the accused bail of N500,000 with one
surety and adjourned the case to November 27 for hearing.
