2023 General Election: A’ Court President Constitutes Election Petition Tribunal in Bayelsa State

The Appeal Court President, Hon. Justice Monica Bolna’an Dongban-Mensem, has constituted  the  Governorship, National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunals for Bayelsa State with the mandate to  hear and determine  Election Petition(s) that  may arise from the upcoming 2023 General Elections in the State.

The tribunal is constituted pursuant to the powers conferred on the President of the Court of Appeal by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of  Nigeria,  1999 (as amended) and the Electoral Act, 2022.

According to a press release by the Bayelsa State Election Petition Tribunal Secretary, Ezenta Obioma, Esq., the “Acting Chief Judge of  the State, Honourable Justice M. A. Ayemieye has granted the use of former High Court Sagbama, Opposite DSS, Yenagoa, Bayelsa  State for the use of the Tribunal.

Members of  the  General Public are advised to contact the Secretary of the Tribunal  at the Registry/Secretariat of the Tribunal at former High Court Sagbama, Opposite DSS, Yenagoa, Bayelsa  State.
