Ogun State Judiciary: E-Filing: WhatsApp Number And Email Address Now Mandatory In Processes

The Honourable Chief Judge of Ogun State, Hon. Justice (Dr.) M. A. Dipeolu has issued a directive regarding e-filing of court processes.

In a letter emanating from the office of the Chief Registrar, dated 28 October 2022, made available to DNL Legal and Style, the letter addressed to The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ota Branch, Ogun State says henceforth, it is mandatory to indicate a valid email address and a functional WhatsApp number(s) in processes being filed.

The content of the letter reads:

IN RE: FILING REQUIREMENT
PROVISION OF E-MAIL ADDRESS AND WHATSAPP PHONE NUMBERS

The above subject matter refers.

Upon the takeoff of the e-filing Registry, I have the directive of My Lord, the Honourable Chief Judge, Hon. Justice (Dr.) M. A. Dipeolu, FICMC, FHNR to inform all counsel that henceforth, it is mandatory to indicate the following in the processes being filed:

  1. Valid email address
  2. Functional WhatsApp number(s)Accept the assurances of My Lord the Honourable Chief Judge.
