The Chairman Oyo state Independent Electoral Commission (OYSEIC) and former General Secretary of the NBA , Aare Isiaka Abiola Olagunju (SAN) has been elected Chairman of Egbe Amofin Oodua.
Egbe Amofin Oodua also known as Yoruba Lawyers Forum is the umbrella body of lawyers of Yoruba extraction
Olagunju along side other seven elected executives would pilot the affairs of the association for the next two years.
The election which was held at the Chief Magistrate Court Ibadan was conducted via a hybrid process of both electronic and manual voting enabling the members of the association both in Nigeria and diaspora to vote.
In his acceptance speech, Olagunju promised to set the ball rolling immediately. And assures members that the new leadership of Egbe will bring back eminent members of Egbe who had stayed away from the activities of Egbe Amofin O’odua to rejuvenate the forum. He emphasized the need for members to be actively involved in the activities of the forum to further achieve its set goals.
Also speaking, the Chairman caretaker committee professor Oluwole Akintayo noted that the forum would be much stronger if the members renew their commitments to the association.
