NBA Otuocha Calls for Court Boycott Over Kidnap of F. A. Onwuachi, Esq.

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Otuocha Branch has called on all Lawyers in Anambra State to boycott court sessions in the entire state in protest over the kidnap of a member of the Branch, F. A. Onwuachi, Esq.

A statement signed by the Chairman of the NBA Branch, Mr.  Okafor Anthony Uche, reveals that Mr. Onwuachi was kidnapped on Friday, 12th March, 2021 at about  7:30pm along Ezu river/Anaku road in Ayamelum Local government area of the State.

He also stated that the kidnappers had not made any contact with the family four days after the kidnap.

His statement reads in part.

“The Nigerian Bar Association Otuocha Branch is calling on the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Willie Obiano to take proactive measures to ensure that our colleague returns safe and unites with his family unhurt within 72hours .”

“We equally call on the security agencies in Anambra State to ensure that our colleague, F.A.Onwuachi who has been in captivity for four days now is released immediately. We state categorically that Anambra State is in shambles in terms of security.”

“Nobody is safe in Anambra State if a lawyer can be kidnapped and four days thereafter he has not been rescued. We are calling on all the lawyers in Anambra State to boycott court session in all the courts in Anambra State from Wednesday, 17th March, 2021 until our colleague returns home safe.”
