In a series of tweet shared few minutes ago, foremost law teacher Professor Ernest Ojukwu SAN has asked whether the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN) and the National Association of Law Teachers (NALT) should speak out in the ongoing fight for judicial financial autonomy in Nigeria.

Should Nigerian Association of Law Teachers-NALT say SOMETHING on the fight for Judicial Autonomy in Nigeria?
— Ernest Ojukwu (@ernestojukwu) April 19, 2021
Prof. Ojukwu’s question may be both an attempt to awaken the consciousness of these two important bodies on the need to join in the fight as well as a conversation starter. The very first responders to the tweet seem to be in agreement that there is need for the two Association to speak up at this time.
Recall that JUSUN had began an indefinite strike on Tuesday, 6th April 2021 to press State Governors to implement the Judicial Financial Autonomy in Nigeria. The strike today took a different dimension as both JUSUN and NBA took to the National Assembly on a protest to press home this demand.
Presently, both the Federal and State Government are yet to take concrete steps towards ensuring that the issues are resolved, while courts at all levels in Nigeria have remained locked since the commencement of the Strike action which entered its 14th day today.
