A High Court sitting in Lagos has admitted the 22 years old man, Joshua Adeyinka Kayode, who allegedly defrauded 170 people to the sum of N10.8 billion, under fake Investiment have been to bail in the sum of N2 billion.
The trial of embattled Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka aka Baba Ijesha at the Lagos Special Offences Court in Ikeja, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, has been stalled.
The Nation gathered the trial was stalled due to the long vacation of the judges.
In a notice seen by The Nation, the judges will be on vacation till third week of September.
Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, at the last sitting, adjourned the matter to August 11 and 12 for continuation of trial.
But the case has been adjourned to September 27.
The Court registrar, Ibrahim Hassan, also confirmed to The Nation the judges have gone on a “retreat.”
Baba Ijesha has been in the eye of the storm since April 22, 2021 when Lagos Police Command arrested him for allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old girl in the care of Princess.
The Nation reports the embattled actor was charged on six-count charges of sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault, which contravene sections 259, 135, and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011, as well as 135, 263, and 262 Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
