His name is Gabriel Nwodo. He is a 2015 first class law graduate of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUTH).

His story which is shared in a series of tweet by his friend is that:

He graduated with a First Class Honors with a CGPA of 4.81/5.0 (highest in the history of the University) and emerged the Faculty and the University’s Best Graduating Student.

At the 17th Convocation ceremony of the University which held on December 10, 2016, he was the Valedictorian and delivered the Valedictorian speech on behalf of over 4000 students that made up the ESUT Class of 2015.

The convocation ceremony had in attendance His Excellency, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyị, the Executive Governor of Enugu State as he was conferred with an honorary doctorate degree on that said day.

His Excellency, Gov. Ugwuanyị announced that the State Government will place him on a scholarship for his Masters degree in any University of his choice around the world.

Recently, Gabriel got admitted into University of Cambridge for his Master of Laws (LL.M) program and since he wasn’t successful in his Chevening Scholarship application has reached out to Enugu State Government to redeem their promise of sponsoring his Masters degree program. He has exhausted all avenues to get the State Government to fulfill the promise to no avail.

While still appealing to the Enugu State Governor to fulfill his promise, his friends have created a Go fund me account to help make Gab’s Cambridge dream a reality.
