The Benin chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association(NBA) has called on the Edo State government to provide proper designation for the zones where it has banned the parking of vehicles.
The association called on the government to mark the no-parking points in Benin properly in a statement by its Branch Publicity Secretary, Douglas Ogbankwa Esq and Chairman, Collins Benson Ogiegbaen, AICMC .
The statement issued in Benin City on Thursday the 3rd of January,2019, on behalf of the Branch , by the Publicity Secretary of the Branch called for a proper placement of sign posts in the affected areas to delineate the designated ”No Parking Zones” ,within the Metropolis, to give Notice of same to Citizens and Visitors alike.
Prince Ogiegbaen further stated that the State Government should implement the new Traffic Management System in a way that will not cause untold hardship to Citizens.
The Chairman called for the streamlining of the Areas involved in the newly introduced No Parking Zone, in order to avoid a scenario, where Citizens will be embarking on long and unnecessary trekking even when they have Cars.
Prince Ogiegbaen called on the Edo State Government to bear in the mind, that the purpose of Governance, must be Utilitarian, that is the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people.
