“Today marks the start of a new era, a new beginning. I am very thrilled because a new beginning always gives an opportunity to right the wrongs of the past, while consolidating on the rights of the past as well. Today our dear union moves forward. It moves forward because of you. It moves forward because you reaffirmed the spirit that has triumphed our conflict and depression, the spirit that has lifted our dear LAWSAN from the depths of despair to the great heights of hope, the belief that while each of us will pursue our own individual dreams, we are a LAWSAN family and we rise or fall together as one union and as one people.”

“As an administration, top on our agenda for LAWSAN shall be to strengthen our ties with the management, ensuring academic excellence and taking our dear LAWSAN to greater heights within and outside the University of Calabar. For want of time, We shall achieve the above in the spirit of justice, equality, fair play, unity, peace, ‘rule of law and careful observance of the fundamental human rights of all and sundry. This is the future we hope for, this is the vision we share, and that’s where we need to go forward.”
