Court Jails Two 21 Years Iver N362m Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Gombe zonal office, has secured the conviction of the duo of Ibrahim Umar and Sahabo Hamman, before Justice Nathan Musa of the Adamawa State High Court, Yola.
Our correspondent gathered that Umar, a former electoral officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission in charge of Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State, allegedly conspired with the second convict, Hamman, a retired staff member of INEC and representative of West African Network of Election Observers “to withdraw the sum of N370m from Central Bank of Nigeria at a new generation bank, Yola branch.”

The sum of N362m was said to have been released to the convicts.
Harman served as the state coordinator, Adamawa State, during the 2015 presidential election.

They were sentenced to 21 years’ imprisonment on three counts charge bordering on conspiracy, and for corruptly enriching themselves.
