His name is Rev. Father Gabriel Uchechi Emeasoba and he has had first class in all his graduate courses. He graduated with 1st Class in Philosophy (B. Phil), Theology (B. Th) Law (LLB) and now Law School (BL).
He was called to the Nigerian Bar yesterday.
His friend Mr. Henry Ikwunemere took to facebook to celebrate him with the below eulogy:
Welcome to the Bar, Fr Gab, an uncommon scholar, 4/4 First Class!
This is Rev. Fr. Gabriel Uchechi Emeasoba ( Uche Gab) my very good friend.
Today, 29th day of November, 2018, Fr Gab will be Called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Towards the tail end of my undergraduate days at UNILAG, there’s this man that always share the same row with me at the East End of the Law Library. He’d enter the library and wouldn’t raise his head except he’s packing up his books to leave after many hours of intense and highly concentrated study.
Rev Fr Callistus Ojike my very close friend and classmate later introduced him to me as his brother priest who just join the faculty as a Direct Entry student of Law.
I later did an elective course with him, Human Rights and Civil Liberties Law, taught by Prof Akin Ibidapo-Obe. I was always amazed at his robust contributions to the class during lectures. Highly scholarly and well researched contributions with deep mastery of the subject. Even me, as a 500L student doing the course with my juniors, I will be looking at him like….this man is not of this clime.
Fr Gab is everything genius, an intellectual powerhouse and an all round excellence!
On his road towards becoming a priest of the Roman Catholic Church, Fr Gab had bagged B.A. in Philosophy with First Class and also in Theology with First Class as well.
You would think that was a fluke, Fr Gab achieved the same feat at UNILAG Law by cracking the LL.B with First Class and also bagged another First Class from the Nigerian Law School at 2018 Bar Finals Exams.
Congratulations Padre, welcome to the Bar!
I celebrate you!!!!!
Photos worth seeing:
