Over 100 lawyers today stormed the Mpape Magistrate Court in Abuja to show their solidarity to David Amaefula and Pius Udo-Inyang counsel in the firm of Rickey Tarfa and Co, who were arrested, detained and arraigned by the police while attempting to secure the release of Senator Dino Melaye.
Over 40 lawyers including the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja Branch, Adesina Ogunlana led by Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN where ready to appear in court while the rest were seen around the court. Heavily armed policemen were also seen around the court while the duo of David and Pius were brought to court handcuffed.
According to Mr. Ogunlana, We met a contingent of rifle bearing helmeted police men on ground , numbering about a dozen . However they did not hinder access to the court and disturbed no one .Already , lawyers have numbered about twenty , waiting for the court to sit and deliver the ruling on the bail application of D and P.
