The office of the President of the Nigerian Bar Association has called for tolerance and forgiveness in this Easter season. The above was contained in an Easter message issued by the General Secretary of the Association.
The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud, OON, SAN is greatly pleased to join our Christian colleagues to commemorate this year’s Easter celebration. He thanks God Almighty for the opportunity to celebrate another Easter despite all the challenges facing us as a country presently.
Easter marks the season where Christians celebrate and remember the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It represents the triumph of good over evil, life over death. This season is a time to show love, compassion and forgiveness to one another.
It gives us the opportunity to reflect on how we can imbibe the teachings and actions of Jesus Christ in our relationship with God and our fellow human beings.
The NBA President enjoins all Nigerians particularly Legal Practitioners to use this special season to eschew all forms of conducts that are capable of bringing legal profession to disrepute or public opprobrium in whatever circumstance we may find ourselves. He enjoins us to love our neighbours by displaying increased spirit of accommodation, kindness, patience and tolerance in order to bring lasting peace in our country.
This Easter season reminds us that hope must never be lost about the progress and
development of our country Nigeria. As dark as the road may seem, there always lies light at the end of the tunnel.
The NBA President appreciates the unalloyed support enjoyed by this administration so far as we remain committed to delivering our mandate of creating a Brave New Bar which will be second to none in our history.
May this Easter bring us a renewal of hope, peace, faith, health, love, the spirit of God and fulfilled prayers.
Have a pleasant Easter celebration.
Signed:
Aare Isiaka Abiola Olagunju
NBA General Secretary
