With effect from the 27th September, 2018, the appointees are to assume duties pending the inauguration of the Senate for their confirmation. The Directorate and its members will be ceremonially inaugurated and shall hold its meeting at the LAWSAN National Legislative Summit at Baze University, Abuja on the 30th October, 2018.

The Directorate of Research and Training is a core division of the Law Students Association of Nigeria established to enhance the training of students in various faculties of law in Nigeria. To this end, the President tasks the Directorate to target the following, with a sole purpose of building capacity in law students:

Formulation of suitable programmes for the development of clinical, broader and research-based legal skills.

Contributing to the work of various law faculties in providing training in enhancing and updating legal knowledge

Performing periodic research into problems affecting Nigerian law students and proffering salient solutions.

The President congratulates all the appointees and urges them to employ due diligence and skills in the discharge of their duties to the best interest of all law students in Nigeria. The President and the National Executive Council assures the appointees of their highest regards.
