The House of Representatives joint committee on Justice and Judiciary has notified the general public that there will be a one day public hearing and therefore called for memoranda on the recent issue where a young lady Firdaus Amasa was not called to the Bar on account of her dressing.
In a joint statement by Rt Hon Razak Atunwa and Hon. Aminu Shehu Shagari, Committee Chairmen on Justice and Judiciary respectively, it was revealed that the House of Representatives considered the motion below and referred it to the Joint Committee on Justice and Judiciary for further legislative action.
The motion is NEED TO INTERVENE IN THE HIJAB CONTROVERSY BETWEEN THE NIGERIAN LAW SCHOOL AND AMASA FIRDAUS (A LAW SCHOOL GRADUATE) HR. 195/2017.
Pursuant to Section 38 and 89 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) the Standing Order of the House and mandate of the house, the Joint Committees on Justice and Judiciary is to hold a one (1) day public hearing on the above subject matter as follows:
Date: Tuesday 6th February, 2018.
Time: 10:00 prompt
Venue: Conference Hall 236, House of Representatives Building, National Assembly Complex, Abuja
