Spokesman for the PMB 2019 Campaign Organization Mr. Festus Keyamo SAN has come under fire again over a comment he made today on a live program “Politics Today” on Channels TV.
Mr. Keyamo SAN while defending President Buhari’s withdrawal of $1b dollars from the Excess Crude Account had said it is not every constitutional violation that amounts to a misconduct under the doctrine of necessity.
The above comment has sparked reaction from Nigerians and the legal community.
In his reaction, former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja Branch and 1st Vice President of the NBA Mr. Monday Onyekachi Ubani reacting to the above statement wrote:
“Taking 1 billion dollars from the Excess Crude Account by the President for the purchase of air plane was done under the “doctrine of Necessity”, yet again Keyamo SAN. He justified the recent spending by citing examples of OBJ, Yar’dua , Jonathan etc. He justified the spending earlier by PMB before writing the National Assembly since security of the nation is the issue which requires urgent attention. Mr. Keyamo’s appearance on Channels Politics Today would appear to be his first official duty as the newly appointed spokesman of President Buhari’s 2019 Campaign organization.
