Catholic Lawyers Holds 4th Professional Development Seminar

Catholic Lawyers under the aegis of National Association of Catholic Lawyers (NACL), Lagos Archdiocese is set to hold its  4th Professional Development Seminar. The 2018 Seminar would feature a Seminar in the morning and a Colloquium in the afternoon. NACL has arrayed seasoned resource persons that would ensure that participants are richly impacted.

The Seminar Schedule is as follows:

Date: Saturday, 28th April, 2018.

Venue:  Colonades Hotel, 21 Kingsway Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Time: Seminar Begins at  9am while the Colloquium starts 11:30am

Morning Sessions: Seminar –  Exploring Emerging Areas of Law Practice.

Two eminent Speakers will be addressing the participants, on the above topic on the areas set out below:

Mrs Bisi Adeyemi Managing Director, DCSL Corporate Services Limited who would be will be speaking on  the opportunities available to lawyers in 21st Century Law Practice.

And

Mr Emeka Ndu of C & I Leasing Plc who would speak on current developments in his area of specialization.  He is expected to address participants from the viewpoint of a corporate body requiring the services of in-house and external counsel in modern business transactions. Bearing in mind that the frontiers of Law Practice are being pushed on a daily basis, it would be most rewarding to participate in a Session which will explode into new opportunities for Law Practice.

Afternoon Session: Colloquium – The Nigeria: Its People Desire, Deserve and Demand.Citizen’s and Government’s Collective Task of Building a Sustainable, Responsive and Accountable New Nigeria – Lead Speaker- Professor Pat Utomi, (Founder / CEO, Centre for Values and Leadership).

A People’s Constitution as an Instrument of Growth and Development in a New Nigeria. – Professor Akin Oyebode former Professor of International Law and Jurisprudence University of Lagos.

Building Strong Democratic Institutions: An Imperative for the Common Good in Nigeria. – Ms. Idayat Hassan Director, Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD Abuja).

Education in the Search for Effective Leadership in Nigeria –  Dr Chi Chi Aniagolu Okoye of Wateraid, a Not- for- Profit organization headquartered in London.

The Youth as Agents in the Restructuring of Nigeria –  Prof. Charles Ukeje Reader in International Relations, Obafemi Awolowo University.

Pseudo Religion and Ethnicity –A Bane to Accountable and Transparent Leadership in Nigeria – Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Akinwale Vice Chancellor, Dominican University Nigeria.
