For the second time since his trial began, Ifeanyi Dike who is the prime suspect in the alleged killing of eight-year-old Victory Chikamso at Eliozu area of a Rivers state has acted strangely in court.

Recall that Dike had earlier shouted and collapsed in court when his charge was being read to him.

But during today’s proceedings, there was an outburst by Ifeanyi Dike who claimed that enemies of the state were after his life.

The mild drama took everyone by surprise as Dike further raised his voice, stating that the number of the prosecution witnesses are increasing by the day.

The accused, who has been in remand for almost nine months, raised an alarm that most of the testimonies are lies; “My Lord Sir, these people have continued to bring different witnesses that are lying against me. The number of witnesses have increased. They are enemies of the state.

“I don’t know any of them. Everybody have been talking since and they have not allowed me to say anything. They are planning against me. They want to kill me by force.”

The development happened shortly after the ruling, rejecting statement by the tenth prosecution witness in the matter.

But the trial judge, Justice Adolphus Enebeli, while addressing the issue, told Ifeanyi Dike that he will have enough time to express himself.

The matter was then adjourned to July 29 for continuation of trial.

Ifeanyi Dike and two others are standing trial for the alleged killing of the eight-year-old Chikamso in Eliozu, Obio Akpor Local government area of Rivers state.
