Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association ECNB) appointed to conduct election into the National offices of the NBA in 2018 has issued a preliminary notice of the National Election as follows:
Mode of Election
E- Voting (Universal Suffrage).
Date of Election:
Election shall commence on Friday 27th, 23:59 hours and end Saturday, 28th July at 23:59 hours.
Eligibility for Election:
Offices for which members or candidates will be eligible to contest on the basis of rotation among the three(3) Zones prescribed by paragraph 2.2(b) of the extant constitution of the NBA (As Amended) and their qualifications are as appearing hereunder:

The list of states that make up the respective Zones as set out in Schedule 2.2(e)(i), (ii) and (iii) of the extant NBA Constitution (As Amended).
A candidate for any elective national office shall be nominated or proposed in writing by a member and seconded by another member both of whom shall be qualified like the candidate in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Constitution for the equivalent office and in good standing with their practising fees and all other Branch levies.
For the avoidance of doubt, the States that make up each of the zones are highlighted as follows:
I. Eastern zone are_ Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra , Bayelsa, Cross Rivers, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo and Rivers.
II. Northern zone are- Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Borno, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe, Zamfara and FCT- Abuja
III. Western Zone are- Delta, Edo, Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Oyo
All nominations are to be submitted not later than 4p.m on the Thursday 31st May, 2018. All duly completed nomination forms should be sealed and addressed to:-
