The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice I.N Auta has formally requested from the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) the nomination of suitably qualified candidates, for consideration for appointment as Judges of the Federal High Court.
In view of the request, NBA President Abubakar Mahmoud (SAN) has in a statement signed by the association’s General Secretary, Isiaka Lagunju called for Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified candidates from the Bar.
In line with Section 250 (3) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, interested candidates must be qualified to practice as legal practitioners in Nigeria and have been so qualified for a period of not less than ten (10) years.
Other requirements include copies of the following:
– Curriculum Vitae (clearly stating their State of Origin, Local Government and Senatorial Districts)
– Call to Bar Certificate
– Evidence of Payment of Annual Bar Practicing Fees and NBA Branch Dues as at when due for the last ten (10) years preceding their application.
– Letter of Good Standing from their registered NBA Branch signed by the Branch Chairman and Secretary
Hard copies of all Expressions of Interest and the requisite supporting documents must be address and forwarded to:

Deadline for the submission of Expressions of Interest shall be Thursday 27 April 2017 by 5pm prompt. The deadline will not be extended nor will any documents be accepted by the Nigerian Bar Association after the stated date and time.+
