Barely one week after the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, gifted Kamarudeen Idowu, a physically challenged lawyer, a Toyoto Corolla car with a promise to give him a driver and pay for the driver’s service for a year, a group of lawyers championed by the Monday Ubani Foundation have also given Mr. Idowu a car and a wheelchair.
Idowu who used to be a beggar on the streets of Lagos, decided to further his education by pursuing a degree in Law. He used proceeds from his begging to pay his way through the University. He was called to bar in 2016 after completing his Law degree from the University of Lagos and the Nigerian Law School, Abuja campus.
Presenting the toyota camry car and the wheelchair to Mr. Idowu, Mr. Ubani, the Chairman of Welfare Committee of NBA and the current 2nd Vice President thanked the donors and well wishers who came to witness the occasion. He specifically appreciated the donors whose effort saw to the reality of the gifts. He prayed that the Almighty God will replenish their deep pockets.
He also used the opportunity to request that the Governor of Lagos State, who is known for his care and love to the physically challenged persons in the State to give an employment in the Ministry of Justice to Mr. Idowu who holds a degree in both Political Science and Law.
He further explained that Mr. Idowu with a double degree will be an asset to the Ministry of Justice and to Lagos State in general.

While we congratulate the donors for their generosity we implore them and other well meaning Nigerians to also extend their gestures to other physically challenged lawyers among us too.
