An Igando customary court, Lagos has dissolved a four year old marriage between Livinus Uwa and Chinyere Uwa over the husband accusing the wife of stealing his money.
Mr. Livinus made it known to the court that he married a thief as a wife and urged the court to dissolve the marriage between him and his wife because of her act of stealing money from his wardrobe.
According to the report: “I married a thief, on several occasions, my wife stole money from my wardrobe, rendering me broke. The last time she burgled my room and stole N350, 000.
“I reported the theft at the police station and she confessed to the theft, but the money was not recovered.
“I have reported all her attitudes and stealing habits to both families, they called her, but she refused to change.’’
He made it known that his wife has refused to appear in the court after several callings and also added that she has been appearing and disappearing since they married.
“When she was pregnant, she left the house to an unknown destination and came back after she was delivered of the baby.
“She abandoned our baby when she was 10-month-old; I have to engage a baby sitter to take care of her.
When the baby was two years, I enrolled her in school and my wife reappeared,’’ he said.
Livinus described his wife chinyere as a lazy and dirty fellow and also pleaded to the court to dissolve the marriage since he can no longer cope with her stealing and lazy act anymore.
The president of the court Mr. Adegboyega Omilola dissolved the marriage since the wife has refused to appear in court.
It was made known that throughout the duration of the case Chinyere has refused to appear in court.
It was declared by Omilola: “The marriage between Livinus Uwa and Chineye Uwa is hereby dissolved from today, both parties are no longer husband and wife, they are free to go their separate ways without any hindrances and molestation.’’
